Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Four Charged With DWI During Sobriety Checkpoint At Busy Port Jefferson Intersection Four people were charged during an overnight sobriety checkpoint overnight at a busy Long Island intersection. It was conducted in Port Jefferson Station at the corner of Route 112 at Hallock Avenue from around 11:10 p.m. Friday, July 1 until just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2. Suspect Nabbed After Two Shot During Dispute At Riverhead Restaurant A suspect has been apprehended more than a month after two men were shot during a dispute at a Long Island restaurant. It happened around 1:20 a.m. Saturday, May 28 in Riverhead. That's when officers respond to the Mambo Grill and Lounge at 33 East Main Street for a report of a disturbance that resulted in gunshots being fired at the location, Riverhead Police said. Swimmer At NY Beach Believed To Have Been Bitten By Shark, Police Say A man swimming at a popular beach in the region is believed to have been bitten by a shark, according to authorities. The incident happened on Long Island at around 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30 in Wantagh. Nassau County Police say a 37-year-old man was swimming in the ocean at Jones Beach when he sustained a laceration to his right foot. Man Convicted For Machete Killing Of Grandmother During Levittown Home Invasion A Long Island man has been convicted in the brutal machete killing of a 73-year-old grandmother during a home invasion. On Sept. 13, 2017, Benjamin Lopez, age 27, of Levittown, and a co-defendant, Deangelo Gill, broke into a home on Newbridge Road in Levittown seeking revenge on the resident, Mark Depperman, and planning to steal his marijuana and money, according to the charges by Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. 66-Year-Old Killed In Two-Vehicle Long Island Crash Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one person dead on Long Island. It happened just before 7 p.m. Thursday, June 30 in West Hempstead. A 66-year-old man operating a 2021 Chevy SUV and a 2015 Toyota Camry being operated by a 41-year-old woman were involved in the crash on Hempstead Turnpike at Front Street. Man Found Dead Floating On Water In Long Beach Police are investigating after a man was found dead in the water on Long Island. The 75-year-old man found floating in on Thursday, June 30 at 10 a.m. on Reynolds Channel in Long Beach and the body was recovered by Nassau County Police Marine Bureau Boat Six. The man was pronounced dead by a Long Beach Fire Department Medic at scene. The aided had been previously reported as a Missing Person by Long Beach Police.
