Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in areas in New York and Connecticut north of I-287 and the Merritt Parkway, where 2 to 4 inches of snowfall is now possible. Hudson Valley Resident Killed In Double-Fatal Long Island Crash A Hudson Valley resident was among the victims in a double-fatal crash on Long Island. It happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21 on the westbound side of the Northern State Parkway in Suffolk County in the area of Exit 39 in Huntington, state police said. Two people killed were pronounced at the scene. Covid-19: First NY Resident Diagnosed With More Contagious South African Mutant Strain The first case of the South African mutant strain of COVID-19 has been identified in a resident of New York State. The South African variant, like the highly contagious United Kingdom strain, contains a mutation called N501Y.V2 which is believed to make it more contagious than older variants. Fairfield County Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash A Fairfield County man was killed in an overnight crash on Route 8 in New Haven County. It happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in Derby, according to state police. Jonathan Perez, age 36, of Bridgeport, was traveling northbound at the Exit 18 off-ramp when his 2021 Hyundai Sonata left the roadway at a high rate of speed and struck a tree, said police. The vehicle sustained significant damage, said police. The crash is under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call Troop I at 203-393-4200.

Here Are Areas Expected To See Accumulating Snowfall From New Storm System Areas in which accumulating snowfall is expected have been identified for a quick-moving new storm system that will sweep through the region. The time frame for the storm is from early Monday afternoon into early Monday evening, Feb. 22. An inch or so of snowfall is possible north of I-287 in New York and the Merritt Parkway in Connecticut and Massachusetts before a changeover to rain. (See the first image above.) Covid-19: New Report Reveals Just How Big Housing Boom Has Been During Pandemic The housing boom ignited by the COVID-19 pandemic has been even bigger than previously thought, according to data released by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in its report for the final quarter of 2020. Total household debt increased by $206 billion (1.4 percent) to $14.56 trillion for the last three months of 2020, driven in part by a steep increase in mortgage originations, the report stated.
