Arsonist, 44, Charged In South Jersey Church Fire: Police
A 44-year-old man has been charged with arson in connection with a blaze that broke out at a South Jersey church, police said. Brian Cannon is believed to have set fire to the Colonial Manor United Methodist Church on Elberne Avenue in West Deptford on Friday, April 20, local police said. He was charged with two counts of arson and aggravated assault. Multiple fire companies responded to the church around 6:40 a.m. Friday. One firefighter was hospitalized with an injury suffered fighting the blaze, and has since been released.

1 Dead In Mid-Day Philadelphia Crash, Driver Detained: Police
Police in Philadelphia are investigating a deadly mid-day crash that happened Sunday, April 21. A red Nissan Pathfinder lost control and struck a tree in the left median on the 400 block of Roosevelt Boulevard N around 12:30 p.m., city police said. Two juveniles, the driver and a passenger, were taken to St. Christopher Hospital by Medic 29. The rear passenger was declared dead at the scene by Medic 29 at 12:54 p.m., police said. The driver was detained for investigation.

A massive fire in Jersey City displaced 18 people on Sunday, April 21. The blaze on West Side Avenue swept through multiple homes around 11:30 a.m. leaving five families displaced, according to the American Red Cross. Motorcyclist, 23, Killed In I-395 Arlington Crash Was Former Football Player
Services have been set for 23-year-old Joshua Craig Jr., the motorcyclist killed in a crash on I-395 last week. Craig, of Dumfries, was heading north on I-395 at a high rate of speed when he lost control and struck a 2012 Acura TL around 4:50 p.m. near milepost 7 in Arlington, Virginia State Police said. Popular Westchester Corrections Officer Dies At Age 40
Shock and sadness are spreading following the sudden death of Eleanor Birrittella, a well-known corrections officer in Westchester. Birrittella died on Saturday, April 20, according to Hector Lopez, the president of the New York Hispanic American Law Enforcement Organization. A cause of death had not yet been released. Baltimore SWAT Officer Killed In I-695 Crash
Anthony Ward, a member of the Baltimore Police Department's SWAT team, was killed in a car accident. The department announced Ward's death late Saturday, April 20.
