Johnny's Pizzeria Wins 'Best Pizza' In DVlicious Contest MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Johnny's Pizza in Mount Vernon is the "big cheese," so to speak. The long-time neighborhood staple won the DVlicious contest with 50 percent of the vote. Broadway Pizza in North White Plains and Frank Pepe Pizzeria in Yonkers scored second and third with 18 percent and 17 percent respectively. Johnny's, a fixture in Mount Vernon since 1942, is known for its “old school,” thin crust pizza, which is sold only by the pie, no slices here. The eatery is located at 30 W.
