Johnny's Pizzeria Wins 'Best Pizza' In DVlicious Contest MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Johnny's Pizza in Mount Vernon is the "big cheese," so to speak. The long-time neighborhood staple won the DVlicious contest with 50 percent of the vote. Broadway Pizza in North White Plains and Frank Pepe Pizzeria in Yonkers scored second and third with 18 percent and 17 percent respectively. Johnny's, a fixture in Mount Vernon since 1942, is known for its “old school,” thin crust pizza, which is sold only by the pie, no slices here. The eatery is located at 30 W. Bridgeport's Beverly Pizza Is Winner In DVlicious Pizza Contest BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport's Beverly Pizza House is the "big cheese," so to speak. The long-time neighborhood staple won the DVlicious contest with 48 percent of the vote. Colony Grill in Stamford and Frank Pepe in Danbury scored second and third respectively with 25 percent and 18 percent. In business for 51 years, Beverly Pizza is known for its pan pies. New Rochelle Actor Has Detective Role In NBC Series 'Aquarius' NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- "Aquarius," a new detective show airing on NBC May 28, is the first time in a long time Chance Kelly, a New Rochelle resident and longtime actor, said he's lasted on a show for an entire season. "Normally they kill me off after five or six episodes," he said.
