Hudson Valley Restaurant Week Comes To Pelham PELHAM, N.Y. -- Hudson Valley Restaurant Week starts March 9, with Bistro Rollin set to "wow" with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients as well as standby favorites. Stamford Museum Boasts Its Own 'Sugarmeister' For Tapping Maple Trees STAMFORD, Conn. -- Will Kies, director of education at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center, has been tapping maple syrup on and off for nearly 20 years. But this year, at least from what he's seen so far, may be the most challenging. "We're at the mercy of Mother Nature," Kies said of the maple-sugaring season. This year, thanks to cold, frigid temperatures -- sap flows only when the temperature is above freezing -- will most likely be a shortened season. Stamford Concert Is Dedicated To Victims Of Sandy Hook Tragedy STAMFORD, Conn. -- A new musical composition dedicated to victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy will be performed at The Palace in Stamford at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 7, with a pre-concert lecture at 7:15 p.m. Composer Steven Sametz, who was born in Westport but now lives in Pennsylvania, said his inspiration for "A Child's Requiem" came from hundreds of writings and stories from young children all over America who told their tales of loss.
