Peekskill Residents Plunge Into The Hudson For Charity PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- More than 30 participants took a dip in the Hudson River on New Year's Day as part of the Third Annual Polar Plunge, raising more than $10,000. The money benefits This is Me Foundation, an organization that helps to fund college scholarships for local students who have faced adversity or helped a friend through adversity. Proceeds also benefit students who have alopecia, an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. The Polar Plunge was sponsored by The Quiet Man Public House. See earlier Daily Voice story here.

The annual event also raised money for The Challenged Athletes Foundation.
