Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Jersey Shore Medics Pull Motorist From Burning Vehicle Off Garden State Parkway, Reports Say A trapped motorist was rescued from a burning vehicle after crashing into a tree along the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. Medics apparently pulled at least one person out of a car after it veered off the northbound lanes of the parkway in Brick Township, initial reports said. The crash occurred mid-afternoon near mile-marker 94 Tuesday. The car fire was knocked down by local firefighters within 15 minutes, reports said. Carbon Monoxide Leak Prompts Evacuation Of Burlington County Communications Building A Burlington County building used for central communications was evacuated after high readings of carbon monoxide were detected, authorities said.  The potentially hazardous fumes were first reported about 3 p.m. on Tuesday at 1 Academy Drive in Westampton, according to initial reports.  First responders in Camden County were asked to help ventilate the building, reports said.  The county building was evacuated within 15 minutes later, unconfirmed reports said. Central Jersey Motorist Trapped, Airlifted After Vehicle Flips Police, firefighters and EMS crews were called to a serious crash in Central Jersey, authorities said. The Tuesday afternoon crash occurred in Manalapan Township, Monmouth County, according to initial reports. The vehicle had overturned onto its roof on Taylors Mills Road, trapping at least one occupant, reports said.  An unconfirmed report said one of the vehicle's occupants was unconscious on the ground and one was still trapped shortly after noon.
