Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Fatal Jersey Shore Crash Closes Route 70 First responders were called to a report of a fatal crash that had closed Route 70 in Ocean County, authorities said. The crash occurred near Route 70's intersection with Beckerville Road in Manchester Township about 5 p.m. on Thursday, according to initial reports.  The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and county Sheriff's CSI unit had been called to the crash scene. Akil Herbert of Florence Township pleaded guilty in September to first-degree attempted murder and  violating a restraining order in 2016, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina. Rollover Crash In Central Jersey Closes Route 35 First responders were called to a report of a serious crash in Monmouth County, authorities said. The rollover crash was reported about 11 a.m. on Route 35 near Woodland Drive in Middletown, according to initial reports. State transportation were called to the scene since the crash resulted in traffic lights and telephone poles down, reports said.
