An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Poughkeepsie High School Principal Suspended POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Poughkeepsie High School Principal Phee Simpson has been suspended through the remainder of the school year. The school board voted to suspend Simpson at a meeting Monday. She will be paid during her suspension. Ronald Jackson, Dean of Students, was appointed acting executive principal. Woman Tries To Take Child Out Of Classroom, Yorktown Police Say A 49-year-old Croton woman was arrested and charged after Yorktown Police say she tried to remove a child from a classroom at Yorktown Presbyterian Church on Monday. Lesia Gagliotti was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor.  Gagliotti entered a classroom and attempted to grab the child out of the arms of a teacher, despite not being a relative or having custody of the child. Dangerous radon levels (at a level above the EPA guideline) have been reported in 4,000 Hudson Valley homes. Radon is the second-leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S., after cigarette smoking and the leading cause of lung cancer in nonsmokers. Reward Offered After ATVs Damage Putnam Golf Course A $1,000 reward has been offered by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office after two people drove ATVs on the Putnam County Golf Course.The golf course was able to capture video footage of the culprits riding red ATVs on the property. “We cannot allow individuals to misuse the golf course at the expense of the taxpayers," County Executive MaryEllen Odell said.
