Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Non-Verbal Man Familiar With Mass Transit Reported Missing In Maryland Concerns are mounting in Montgomery County as friends and family of a non-verbal man who may be mobile and has been reported missing for 24 hours. Eric Spriggs, 56, was reported missing shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21 from the 11200 block of Lockwood Drive in Silver Spring, and now alarm bells are sounding for some. Maryland Woman Who Tried To Kidnap Child From Stroller On DC Metrobus Arrested, Police Say The woman who was wanted for a kidnapping incident on a Metrobus last week has been apprehended, authorities announced on Friday. Christina Marie Acker, 38, has been arrested by Metro Transit Police in DC following an incident on a P12 Metrobus on Friday, Dec. 15, ironically on public transit. Woman Dies After Being Ejected From Overturned SUV In Virginia Virginia State Police investigators have identified the Manassas woman who was killed after being ejected from a vehicle last week on I-77. Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, Thomas Southard, 67, was driving Pamela Stewart, 69, when he lost control on the interstate in Carroll County and crashed near the three-mile marker, officials say.
