Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Montgomery County Schools Sheltering In Place Hours After HS Evacuation For Bomb Threat: Police Several Montgomery County schools were forced to shelter in place on Monday afternoon, just hours after Wootton High School was evacuated for a reported bomb threat. Members of the Montgomery County Department of Police were busy on Monday, Nov. 27, first investigating the threat, then with a shooting in the 20400 block of Lost Knife Circle that forced the Montgomery Village Middle School, Stedwick, Watkins Mills, and Whetstone elementary schools to shelter in place around noon. Police ID Man Struck, Killed Walking Along Maryland Highway On Thanksgiving Night Dark clothes doomed an Anne Arundel man who was struck and killed by a driver in Glen Burnie on Thanksgiving, officials say. Double Fatal Saturday Morning Shooting Being Probed By Police In Baltimore Police say that a man and woman died at an area hospital in Maryland after a fatal double shooting in Baltimore. Officers from the Baltimore Police Department were called shortly after 5 a.m. on Saturday morning to the 300 block of Chapel Gate Lane, where there was a reported shooting.
