Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Man Dies Months After Assault In Maryland; Death Ruled A Homicide, Police Say Two months after a 53-year-old man was found unconscious in a Prince George's County street, police say that it is now being investigated as a homicide after the victim died at the hospital. In late August, members of the Bowie Police Department were called to the 7000 block of Race Track Road, where they found local resident Millard Noack, Jr. unresponsive in the street with injuries to his head, sending him to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation. Gunman Who Fired At Food Deliveryman Returns To Crime Scene: Arlington Police Police in Arlington have arrested a man they say shot a food deliveryman last week. Ahaan Kale, 19, was arguing with the deliveryman as he was dropping food off on the 3500 block of S. Stafford Street around 12:20 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, county police said. Police ID Man Struck, Killed By SUV While Standing Behind Parked Car In Maryland New details have been released by the Baltimore County Police Department after a 63-year-old man was struck and killed by another driver. On Monday, a jury found Neal Pitt, 36, guilty of assault with significant bodily injury for his role in an attack that happened on the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station platform in March 2021, authorities announced.
