Equal parts Lois Lane, J. Jonah Jameson and Vicki Vale, Zak! has traveled from coast-to-coast covering small and big town community news in both in print and online for nearly a decade since his graduation from the award-winning Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College in 2010.

Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Carjacker Ditches Car After Robbing Man At Maryland Park, Sheriff Says An investigation has been launched in Southern Maryland after a man was carjacked and robbed at gunpoint at an area park, according to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, deputies were called to Nicolet Park in Lexington Park, where a man reported that he had just been carjacked. Racial, Homophobic Slurs, Obscene Drawings Found Tagged Near Maryland Playground: Police Police in Anne Arundel County have launched an investigation after there was a series of hateful graffiti found in Annapolis. Over the weekend, officers were called to the area of Greenbriar Lane and Pilot House Drive, where there were reports of at least nine areas in the neighborhood that had hateful graffiti believed to have been tagged on Saturday, Sept. 30. Former Loyola Basketball Star Jamal Barney Found Dead In Vacant Home Former Loyola men's basketball star Jamal Barney was found dead inside a vacant home this week in West Baltimore, police confirmed.
