Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Here's What We Know About Maryland Fire That Killed Beloved Couple The Frederick County Sheriff's Office has identified the two residents who died in an early morning Adamstown house fire on Sunday morning. Police ID Woman Shot To Death Inside Maryland Apartment By Older Boyfriend New details have been released by police in Maryland after a 19-year-old was killed inside a Frederick apartment by her apparent boyfriend. Inmates Come To Aid Of Corrections Officer Being Assaulted Inside Maryland Facility: Sheriff A group of inmates in St. Mary’s County came to the aid of a corrections officer who suffered a vicious assault over the weekend. Arlington Inmate Dies After Being Found Unresponsive A woman being held at a Virginia jail for trespassing was found dead in her cell, authorities in Arlington announced. Abonesh Woldegeorges, 73, died on Sunday, Aug. 27, when she was found unresponsive in her cell at the Arlington County Detention Facility, according to officials.
