Undercover Prostitution Sting Nets 4 Arrests In Woodland Park: Sheriff Four women were arrested during an undercover prostitution bust at multiple spas in Passaic County, authorities announced Friday, July 25. The undercover operation took place on Wednesday, July 23 in Woodland Park, following “numerous complaints” of suspected prostitution in the area, Passaic County Sheriff Thomas Adamo said. Tree Takes Down Power Lines, Sparks Fires, Knocks Out Traffic Lights In Paramus: Police A large borough tree came crashing down in Paramus on Friday, July 25, bringing utility wires and three utility poles down with it, police said. The incident occurred at 32 Farview Ave., where fallen wires sparked a fire in the roadway and ignited a small grass fire, according to Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti. As of press time, more than 600 residents were without power. Emergency crews from the Paramus Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene and immediately shut down traffic. Overturned Dump Truck Snarls Route 23 Traffic In West Milford An overturned dump truck backed up traffic in both directions on Route 23 in West Milford Township late Friday morning, July 25, authorities said. The crash happened just before 11:48 a.m. near Old Ridge Road, according to the NJDOT site. All northbound lanes remained open, but the right lane and shoulder were closed southbound as of 12:25 p.m. Drivers were urged to expect delays as crews worked to clear the scene. NY Residents' Electric Bill Is About To Spike Again A record-high electricity auction held by PJM Interconnection is expected to drive up energy bills across much of the East Coast, even as many states have already been hit with rate hikes this summer. The results of PJM’s 2026/2027 Base Residual Auction, announced Tuesday, July 22, show the price of capacity cleared at the federal cap of $329.17 per megawatt-day, the highest in years.
