Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Long Island Expressway Reopens After Crash This story has been updated. The Long Island Expressway has now fully reopened after a serious crash. The right and center lanes were closed eastbound in Suffolk County between Exit 62 - Nicolls Road/Route 97 (Brookhaven) and Exit 63 - North Ocean Avenue/Route 83 (Brookhaven) starting at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13. Suffolk County Police announced at the time the lanes would be closed "for an extended period of time." At around 4:15 p.m., the middle lane reopened. The right lane reopened shortly afterward.

ID Released For Man Struck, Killed Along With Dog After Being Hit By Jeep On Long Island The identity has been released of a man killed, along with his dog, after both were hit by a Jeep on a busy Long Island roadway. It happened around 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 8 in Massapequa. While attempting to cross Merrick Road southbound, the 30-year-old man, now identified as Matthew Elder, of Massapequa, and the dog were struck by a 2003 Jeep that was traveling westbound on Merrick Road, Nassau County Police said.
