Human Remains Found In Northern VA Stream Authorities have launched a death investigation into the discovery of human remains in a stream in northern Virginia. A person walking in the woods spotted the remains in the Sugarland Run Stream in Sterling, around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said. The person called local authorities, who responded to the area behind Brookfield Circle and Meadowland Lane (Sugarland Run). Virginia Substitute Teacher Was Drunk At Work: Police A 28-year-old substitute teacher from Virginia was arrested on accusations she was drunk at work, authorities announced. Rhiannon Blakeman, of Leesburg, was intoxicated and found in possession of alcoholic beverages by a school resource officer around 1 p.m. in the Tuscarora High School cafeteria Wednesday, May 31. Routine Traffic Stop Turns Up Magazines, Handguns On Virginia Pair In Maryland: Police A pair of men from Virginia posted bond and were released after they were found in possession of handguns during a traffic stop in Maryland, authorities said. Bank Worker Tackles Gun From Robber In Alexandria: Police Police in Fairfax County arrested a man who they say robbed an Alexandria bank at gunpoint. Norman Williams, 42, of Fort Washington Maryland, went into the to the Truist Bank at 5922 Richmond Highway in Huntington just after 1 p.m. on May 25, flashed a handgun and demanded money, Fairfax County police said. US Marshals Capture Ex-Con Who Fired Shots Into VA Hookah Lounge: Police The US Marshals captured a convicted felon who local police say fired shots into a Virginia sports bar during an argument in March. Landry Joseph Johnson, 30, of Dumfries, got into a fight inside of Babylon Cafe on Golansky Boulevard in Woodbridge around 12:20 a.m. on March 24, Prince William County police said. Murder-suicide: Brothers Found Dead In Howard County Home, Police Say A 25-year-old man fatally shot his teen brother before turning the gun on himself in Howard County. Michael Bassler was found with a self inflicted gunshot wound while his 15-year-old brother, Stephen Bassler, was found with a gunshot wound around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, at their home on the 5200 block of Five Fingers Way in Columbia, Howard County police said.
