Crash Closes Jersey Shore Road For Several Hours, Police Say A crash closed a road in Ocean County for several hours, authorities said. East Veterans Highway was shut down between South Hope Chapel Road and Whitesville Road, the Jackson Township Police Department said in a Facebook post at 2:06 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1. Traffic was also blocked from Pitney Lane onto East Veterans Highway. Officers said the road would be closed for several hours. Police haven't said how many vehicles were involved or if anyone was injured. Residents living in the area near the crash can notify officers directing traffic to get access to their homes.

Woman Found Dead Next To Jetty Near Atlantic City Resort, Investigation Underway A woman was found dead along the oceanfront near the Atlantic City Boardwalk, authorities said. The woman's body was found next to a jetty behind the Flagship Resort on North Maine Avenue on Thursday, Aug. 1, a spokesperson from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office confirmed. The woman was discovered wearing a bathing suit at around 5:30 a.m., abc6 Action News reported. Daily Voice has also reached out to the city for information. Person Injured When Vehicle Crashes Into Utility Pole In South Jersey: Police A person was injured when a vehicle crashed into a utility pole and overturned in South Jersey, authorities said. The vehicle struck a utility pole in front of Bagel King on West County Line Road in Jackson Township on Tuesday, July 30, police Chief Matthew Kunz said. A Facebook user posted a picture of the damage from the crash at around 7:25 a.m. The picture showed a dark-colored vehicle on its side.
