Pedestrian Hit By Vehicle, Killed In Toms River: Prosecutors A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed in Toms River, authorities said. In a news release, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said the pedestrian was hit near the intersection of Route 166 and Hilltop Road. The crash happened at around 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1. Toms River police said the crash closed Route 166 between Lomell Lane and Mapletree Road. The county sheriff's department and prosecutor's office are helping in the investigation. Man Airlifted With Head Trauma After Pickup Crashes In South Jersey: Police A man was airlifted to the hospital after crashing his pickup in Ocean County, authorities said. Berkeley Township police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Dover Road near the Lacey Township border at around 3:51 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 30, the department said in a news release. Jersey Shore Couple Admits To Using Teen Son In Marijuana, Mushroom 'Business': Prosecutors A Somers Point couple admitted to using their teen son to sell marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms through an unlicensed business promoted on Facebook, authorities said. Toddler Rescued After Walking Alone Across Busy Jersey Shore Road: Police A toddler who walked alone across a busy Ocean County road was rescued by good Samaritans, authorities said. Berkeley Township police received calls about the toddler walking across Route 9 near Morris Boulevard at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 30, the department said in a news release. Repairs To Beach's Erosion 'Hot Spot' Approved In Jersey Shore Borough A Cape May County borough has approved a plan to fix erosion-damaged parts of the beach in time for the summer. Avalon is expected to begin a sand back passing project on or around Monday, May 13, the borough said in a Facebook post on Tuesday, Apr. 30. Crews will move about 55,000 cubic yards of sand to beaches in Avalon's north end that suffered erosion during winter storms. Co-Owner Of Exotic Snack Website, 33, Killed In NJ Crash Friends and loved ones are remembering a 33-year-old Passaic County resident who was killed in a crash in Atlantic County. Craig Doka of Oak Ridge was found dead in a vehicle that was on fire off Route 30 in Absecon on Sunday, Apr. 28, according to the Absecon Police Department. He was 33 years old. Doka was a co-owner of the website Order Exotic Snacks, which specializes in selling international foods and beverages.
