Motorcyclist Critical In Manheim Route 72 Crash A motorcyclist was in critical condition after a crash on Route 72 in Manheim Friday, Dec. 9, authorities said. The Myerstown man, 64, was going into the intersection after passing a stopped vehicle at a stop sign when another vehicle going across the intersection struck the motorcyclist, attempting a turn around 3:45 p.m. The Myerstown man was transported to the local hospital and was listed in stable but critical condition. Chambersburg Felon Who Endangered Children Escapes A warrant has been issued for a woman serving probation for felon endangering the welfare of children but never returned for her work release job on Thursday, Dec. 8 authorities say.  27-year-old Kathleen Elizabeth Castro-Zavala of Chambersburg was released, only serving 28 days in prison, after being found guilty of a felony endangering welfare of children charge in 2020, court records detail.  Castro-Zavala was then given probation but was resentenced after a violation in July 2021, according to the court documents.  She was being housed at the Franklin County Jail during …

Woman Beaten With Christmas Tree By Man Born On Christmas Eve, Pennsylvania State Police Say A man born on Christmas eve beat a 31-year-old woman with a Christmas tree on Tuesday, Dec. 6, according to a release by Pennsylvania state police.  35-year-old Michael Bandi of Saxonburg was arrested following the incident on Oak Leaf Drive in Jefferson Township, Butler County. A "verbal altercation" between Bandi and the fellow Saxonburg resident ended when he "hit her in the head with a Christmas tree," the police say.
