Motorcyclist Dies Despite Police Offering 'Life-Saving Efforts' Following Crash In Central PA A motorcycle rider died at the hospital following a crash, authorities say. Manor Township police were called to the single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the 700 block of Letort Road at 3:27 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, according to a release by the department. Upon arrival officers and EMS arrived and began performing life-saving efforts on the rider. The rider was transported to Lancaster General Hospital-Penn Medicine where they succumbed their injuries. Wanted Man Leads PA State Police On High-Speed Chase Ending With Use Of TASER Device A wanted man led police on a high-speed chase that ended with an officer deploying a TASER device just after midnight on Friday, July 15, authorities say. Woman Kicks Officer After Attempting To Stab Someone In Lebanon County: Police A 23-year-old woman kicked a police officer, after beating someone and attempted to stab them on Main Street in Palmyra on July 7, area police say. Dead Dogs Found In Central PA Woman's Yard: State Police A 62- year-old woman had dead dogs in her yard and a house full of fleas according to a release on Thursday, July 14 by the Pennsylvania state police. State police from Newport station were called to Anita Zeiders' home in the 500 block of Windy Hill Road in Carroll Township between July 3 and July 13, according to the release. Deadly Tractor-Trailer Crash On I-81 Closes All Lanes In Central PA For 10 Miles A deadly crash involving a tractor-trailer has closed all lanes along a stretch of Interstate 81 in central Pennsylvania, according to the Pennsylvania department of transportation. The shutdown is between Exit 100: PA 443 - PINE GROVE and Exit 90: PA 72 - LEBANON starting at 8:17 a.m. on Friday, July 15, PennDOT says. The crash is fatal and involves a van and a tractor-trailer, according to Schuykill County emergency dispatchers. It is unknown how many people were hurt or how long the road will remain shuttered. Donald “J.D.” Shaeffer served with the Lancaster Bureau of Police for 25 years before retiring in August 2016, according to police officials.
