NJ Swimmer Drowned In PA Park After Saving 8-Year-Old Cousin: Coroner A New Jersey man was found dead in a Pennsylvania lake after disappearing while swimming on Sunday, Aug. 6, officials told Daily Voice.  Elisam Santana, 19, of Sayreville was swimming at Beltzville State Park in an unauthorized area of the lake, said Carbon County Coroner Gerald D. Jones Jr.  Santana, the coroner said, had saved his 8-year-old cousin from drowning when he went under the water and never came back up.  At Santana's autopsy on Tuesday, Aug. 8, his death was ruled an accidental drowning, Jones said.

4-Year-Old Girl Shot In Philadelphia, Say Police A 4-year-old girl was among the victims shot after gunfire rang out on a Philadelphia street late Wednesday, Aug. 9, city police told Daily Voice.  It happened around 9:45 p.m. on the 2000 block of East Clementine Street, the department said.  The girl was shot in the stomach and rushed to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where she was placed in stable condition, according to police.  The second victim, a 24-year-old man, was hit in the left calf and back and is also in stable condition, they added.  No weapons were recovered from the scene and no arrests …

Teen Shot In Face In Philadelphia A 17-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot in the face on a West Philadelphia street Tuesday night, city police told Daily Voice. Officers were patrolling near the 5400 block of Haverford Avenue on Aug. 8 when a pedestrian flagged them down and took them to the victim, the department said.  He was rushed to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he was placed in critical condition, they added.  No weapon was recovered from the scene and no arrests have been made as of Wednesday, Aug. 9.

Man Killed In Lehigh Valley Crash ID'd By Coroner Officials have identified the man who died in a Bethlehem Township car accident on Tuesday, Aug. 8 as 64-year-old David Capelles.  Capelles crashed on the 3600 block of North Hecktown Road, said Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek in a release. First responders took him to St. Luke’s Hospital Anderson Campus where doctors pronounced him dead, the coroner said.  The cause of death was ruled multiple blunt force trauma and the manner accidental.  "No other information will be released at this time," Lysek said.
