Longtime Allentown Police Para-Officer Dies After nearly 50 years of service with the Allentown Police Department, Para-Officer William "Bill" Mentesana died on Saturday, Jan. 28, his colleagues announced. He was 68.  An employee of the APD since May 1974, Bill had served with the 3rd and 4th Parapolice Platoons, police said.
