Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

On Friday, July 15, Gary Moore entered a guilty plea to animal cruelty in the death of a 7-pound Yorkshire Terrier puppy named Mommas.  Authorities with the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office say Moore stuffed the puppy's body between a mattress and box spring. Woman, 91, Critically Hurt In Fire Has Died: Prosecutor A 91-year-old woman critically hurt in an apartment house fire has died, authorities said. Ethel John was one of five people injured in the fire, which broke out at about 10 a.m. on July 11 at Country Club Apartments in Eatontown, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said. John’s dog also was fatally injured in the fire.  Patch.com said the dog died. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Bomb Threats At 3 Walmarts In Central Jersey Unfounded There were bomb threats reported at three Walmart stores in Central Jersey, authorities said. The Monday, July 18 threats came at about 3:30 p.m. at 1126 Route 9 in Old Bridge, at the Edison Walmart on Route 27 and at the East Brunswick Walmart on Route 18.
