Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Car Flips On Garden State Parkway (Developing) A car rolled over on the Garden State Parkway, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The crash occurred before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6 near exit 117 north in Aberdeen Township, initial reports said. The right shoulder of the parkway was blocked. There was a second, unrelated crash on the parkway at about 11 a.m. near Lacey Road in Lacey Township. The driver was trapped in that crash, reports said. Vineland police responded to Fourth Street and Chestnut Avenue at about 10 p.m. on Monday, July 4. They found a man lying in the road, police said. The man, who had not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 56-year-old Vineland man was driving a Toyota Corolla east on Chestnut Avenue when he hit the man, police said. He had not been charged. Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Atlantic County: Njsp Authorities have identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed in Atlantic County. Robert McClernan, 60, of Mays Landing, was hit by a Fiat 500L traveling east on Route 322/Black Horse Pike in Folsom, New Jersey State Police said. The crash occurred at about 10:15 p.m. Monday, July 4. The car hit McClernan as he entered the roadway, police said. He died of his injuries. The driver, who was not hurt, stopped and remained at the scene, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
