Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Suspicious Fire Investigated At South Jersey Apartment Complex: State Police UPDATE: New Jersey State Police are investigating the origin of a suspicious fire in South Jersey, authorities said. A burn victim had to be airlifted from the scene of a fire with serious injuries, according to Trooper Brandi Slota, a spokeswoman for the State Police. The three-alarm fire broke out at about 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, on Egbert Street in Pemberton. The cause and circumstances are currently under investigation, Slota said. Police are searching for a 2015-2018 black Chevrolet Silverado. The incident happened about 6:17 p.m. on Monday, April 18 on Route 9 at Water Street, police said. Suspect Fired Gun At His Mom In Atlantic City: Police A 31-year-old Atlantic City man was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly firing a gun at his mother, authorities said. On Saturday, April 16 at 8:09 p.m., Atlantic City Police Officer Ivaylo Ivanov responded to South Carolina and Baltic Avenues after receiving information from Sergeant Garry Stowe that a fugitive -- Kevin Robinson -- was in the area, police said.
