Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Authorities ID Man Killed By Train In Asbury Park As Barnegat Resident, 34 Authorities have identified a man struck and killed by a train in Asbury Park. James Kessock, 34, Barnegat, was hit about 9:55 p.m. Sunday, according to Jim Smith, a New Jersey Transit spokesman Kessock was struck along the North Jersey Coast Line tracks near First Avenue around 9:55 p.m., Smith said. North Jersey Coast Line rail service was suspended in both directions between Long Branch and Bay Head. New Jersey Transit police investigated.

Crystal Calpin, 29, of Toms River was driving west on Route 37 at Oak Ridge Parkway when she collided with another car at 8:56 a.m. Monday, Toms River police said. 2 Firefighters Reported Hurt In Lakewood Blaze: Developing A serious multiple-unit house fire left at least two firefighters injured on the Jersey Shore, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The two-alarm fire broke out about 8:30 a.m. Friday at 544 Davids Court in Lakewood, initial reports said. Fire was reported shooting through the roof. Video taken by The Lakewood Scoop showed heavy smoke. An unconfirmed report said one of two firefighters injured was taken to a burn center.
