Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Six Arrested, Nine Cops Hospitalized After Protesters Clash With Police In Stamford Six people were arrested and nine police officers were hospitalized during a clash at a protest in Stamford. The protesters were marching for justice for Steven Barrier, a 23-year-old who died due to a medical emergency while in custody last year. The protest began Saturday afternoon, Aug. 8 at Home Depot and proceeded to the Stamford PD headquarters on Bedford Street. Two Stabbed During Altercation At Rockland Residence Two men were stabbed during an altercation at a house in Rockland, according to police. It happened just after 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8 in Spring Valley. Ramapo Police officers responded to a residence on Fairview Avenue or a report of multiple parties in an altercation, knife involved. Two men reside at the residence had been stabbed, according to police. The suspect was being held in place by witnesses awaiting police arrival. Long Island Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash A 50-year-old Long Island man was killed in a single-vehicle crash overnight. It happened around 4:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9 in South Farmingdale. Gary Yander, of South Farmingdale, was traveling westbound in a 2008 Cadillac on Motor Avenue when he struck multiple fixed objects in the vicinity of Merritts Road, Nassau County Police said. He sustained multiple trauma injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a Police Medic. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Suspect At Large After Burglary At Long Island Gas Station A suspect is on the loose after a Long Island gas station was burglarized. The incident happened between midnight and 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 in New Hyde Park, Nassau County Police said. Police officers responded to the Sunoco gas station, located at 205 Jericho Turnpike, for a broken front door. Upon police arrival, it was found that the glass door was completely shattered by an unknown subject who then had gone inside and taken an unknown amount of US currency and a large number of tobacco products before leaving the store heading in an unknown direction, according to police.…

Swimming Restrictions Put In Place After Shark Caught Off Long Island Coast New swimming restrictions are now in place after a shark was caught by fishermen on Long Island. Lifeguards were forced to put out red flags and clear the water just after noontime Sunday, Aug. 9 in Nassau County at East Atlantic Beach and Atlantic Beach Estates. Nearby, Nickerson Beach is now waist-deep swimming. Lido and Lido West Beach are now closed to new visitors, both cars and walk-ins, after reaching capacity late in the morning on Sunday.

New Isaias Outage Update: Here's Latest In Rockland, Orange Counties There are still thousands who remain without power in Rockland and Orange counties five days after Tropical Storm Isaias barreled through the region. Orange & Rockland Utilities is reporting 5,876 of its 302,789 customers are still experiencing outages on Sunday, Aug. 8 at 10:15 a.m. In Orange County, 1,957 of 104,130 customers (1.9 percent) are in the dark.
