Witnesses Sought After Lehigh Valley Hit-And-Run Crash Takes Down Wires, Closes Road (Photos) See anything? Police are seeking information following a hit-and-run crash that took down wires and caused a several-hour road closure in the Lehigh Valley. The crash — which involved a truck —occurred on the 2700 block of Redington Road in Lower Saucon Township around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, local police said. The truck was heading toward Lower Saucon Road when it took down numerous Verizon wires before leaving the scene, closing the roadway for several hours, police said. Hunterdon County Painter, Father Of Baby Son Dies After Fearless Leukemia Battle, 22 Hunterdon County painter and father of a seven-month-old son Marvin Ernesto Lainez Alfaro died at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital New Brunswick on Wednesday, July 6 following a fearless four-year battle with leukemia. He was 22. Born in Sensuntepeque, El Salvador, Marvin emigrated to the United States in 2013 and attended Hunterdon Central Regional High School, where he graduated in 2017, his obituary says. The Sparta Township Fire Department responded to the Sparta Classic Diner just after 11:55 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, the squad said. Raccoon Tests Positive For Rabies In Hunterdon County A raccoon has tested positive for rabies in Hunterdon County, health officials said. The animal was found near Farmhouse Road in Alexandria Township and tested positive for rabies on Thursday, July 21, according to the Hunterdon County Dept. of Health. The department urges anyone who may have come into contact with the raccoon between Monday, July 4 and Monday, July 18 to see their primary care physician to determine whether there is a need for prophylaxis treatment. Teen Burn Victim Airlifted After Sussex County Cooking Accident, State Police Say (Photos) A teen was flown to a nearby hospital after suffering burns while cooking in Sussex County, state police said. Troopers responded to a home on Beemer Church Road and found that the teen’s shirt had caught on fire while cooking around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told DailyVoice.com.
