Seatbelt Infraction Turns Into Eluding Charge For Warren County Man After Foot Chase: Police
Officers who tried to stop a driver for not wearing a seatbelt on Route 46 ended up initiating a foot chase that ended in another jurisdiction as well as numerous additional charges, they said.
Hackettstown Police tried to pull over a car driven by Raul L. Diaz, 57, for failing to wear a seatbelt on Tuesday, June 21, the department said in a release on Wednesday, June 22.
Despite officers activating emergency lights and sirens, Diaz failed to stop and instead turned into the parking lot of the North Morris Apartment complex on North Main Street, police said.

A 24-year-old Somerset County man accused of a string of home and car burglaries is facing various charges, authorities said.
Jason M. Milak was seen driving a work van before burglarizing a home on River Road in Branchburg Township on Monday, May 9, Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart said in a release alongside local officials on Wednesday, June 22.
A month later, Milak, of Branchburg, was scared off by a resident of Cedar Grove Road who claimed that he had tried to break into a parked vehicle shortly before 3:30 a.m.

Lehigh Valley Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash, 50
A 50-year-old man from the Lehigh Valley area died following a motorcycle crash, authorities confirmed.
Tyson Houchin lost control of his motorcycle and crashed near 399 Daniels Rd. in Bushkill Township (Northampton County) just after 6:55 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said.
Houchin, of Bushkill Township, was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly before 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, authorities said.
His cause of death was listed as blunt force injury complications.

Seen them? Authorities have issued an alert for two Mercer County teen brothers who have been reported missing.
Lamar and Mathew Phillips, ages 15 and 13, were reported missing by their guardian when they didn’t come home after playing basketball, Hamilton Police said in a release on Tuesday, June 21.
While Lamar has allegedly run away from home in the past, his brother has not, police said.
