Pair Nabbed For Stealing Nearly $3K In Electronics From Morris County Target: Police
Two men from Brooklyn were charged after police say they worked together to steal nearly $3,000 worth of electronics from a Morris County Target store. The men — whose names were not released — stole various electronic items totaling $2,749 from the Route 46 store on Thursday, Jan. 6, Washington Township police said in a release on Thursday, April 21. The men were charged with shoplifting on Wednesday, April 20 and are scheduled to appear in Morris County Superior Court.

Somerset County Woman Who Set Fire To Hamilton Business Sign Charged With Arson, Police Say
A Somerset County woman who set fire to a business sign in Mercer County was charged with arson, authorities said. Alicia Schmitter, 40, is accused of using a lighter to set fire to an advertisement flag in front of Angie’s Multiservices on the 1800 block of South Broad Street in Hamilton just before 3:10 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, local police said. Schmitter, of Franklin Park, was seen on surveillance footage walking out of sight before officers found her lying on the sidewalk nearby, police said. Fire crews in Morris County were quick to douse a truck that went up in flames on Route 80 Thursday morning, authorities said. The fire broke out in the eastbound lanes by Smith Road in Parsippany around 7:10 a.m., the Parsippany Troy-Hills Fire Department said. Impaired Driver Fled Warren County Crash Scene With Infant In Car, Prosecutor Says
An impaired driver was charged after fleeing the scene of a Warren County crash with an infant in the car, authorities said. Nicole Victoria, of Montclair, was involved in a crash on Water Street in Independence Township shortly before 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a release. Victoria, 39, then drove away and was found in a driveway about half a mile north of the crash scene, Pfeiffer said. A 22-year-old Essex County woman was charged with assault by auto after a DWI crash in Hoboken, authorities announced Thursday. Nicole Schweininger, of Livingston, was charged with assault by auto, DWI, and reckless driving following the crash, which occurred near 501 Observer Highway around 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, Detective Lt. Two people were hospitalized following a double-shooting in Hamilton, authorities said. Officers responding to the shooting report near the 500 block of Lalor Street found two victims with gunshot wounds around 3:05 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, the Hamilton Police Division said. A 55-year-old Lehigh Valley man was killed after being thrown from his vehicle on Route 80 before dawn Thursday, New Jersey State Police confirmed. Joseph J. Bauer was heading west in a Jeep Wrangler when he ran off the right side of the highway and crashed into a metal guardrail near milepost 26.6 in Mount Olive just before 2:50 a.m., NJSP Tpr.
