South Jersey HS Grad, Championship Basketball Player Claushawn Pennerman Dies Unexpectedly, 23 South Jersey high school graduate and championship basketball player Claushawn D. Pennerman died unexpectedly at Virtua Willingboro Hospital on Jan. 8. He was 23. Pennerman went to school in Hamilton, where he graduated from Hamilton High School West in 2017, his obituary says. Pennerman then attended Rowan University and became a member of the Hamilton PAL Basketball Championship team, according to his memorial. NJ QuickChek Gas Attendant Robbed At Gunpoint: Report A Warren County QuickChek was held up at gunpoint Wednesday night, and the suspect remains at large, LehighValleyLive reports. The gunman robbed the attendant outside at the QuickChek on Route 517 in Independence Township before driving off in a dark-colored BMW around 10:45 p.m., the outlet reports, citing police Lt. Christopher Prell. State police chased the suspect vehicle through several neighboring towns before losing contact, the report says. No one was hurt. 3-Alarm Fire Ravages Lehigh Valley Home (Photos) A three-alarm fire ripped through a Lehigh Valley home Wednesday morning, authorities said. The blaze broke out at a home on Oakside Circle in Hanover Township around 10:30 a.m., according to the local volunteer fire company. The bulk of the fire came from the back of the home, prompting the setup of a second water line through the front door, the company said. A third alarm was later requested for manpower and additional tankers, the fire department said. Car Veers Off Road, Plunges Into Creek In Phillipsburg (Photos) A car veered off the road and plunged into a creek in Phillipsburg before dawn Thursday, authorities said. The crash occurred near the Huntington Fire Station on Maple Avenue just before 1 a.m., authorities said. The car plunged into the Lopatcong Creek before the driver self-extricated, the fire department said. The scene was cleared within an hour, and no injuries were reported.
