The scammer — pictured above — is accused of going door-to-door and asking for donations in Palmer Township, local police said. Photos: Emergency Crews, State Police Search For Possible Drowning Victim At Tomahawk Lake Emergency crews from Byram and surrounding agencies conducted a several-hour search of Tomahawk Lake after receiving multiple reports of a possible drowning victim Monday evening. Byram Police, Fire and Lakeland Emergency Squad responded to Tomahawk Lake in Sparta around 6 p.m. on reports of a swimmer that went underwater and had not resurfaced, the Byram Township fire department said on Facebook. Report: Charges Cleared For Phillipsburg Police Officer Accused Of Sexual Misconduct Criminal charges have been cleared for a Phillipsburg police officer accused of sexual misconduct, authorities said Thursday. A warrant was issued Thursday for the arrest of Edward Reyes, 33, with felony charges for forgery, identity theft, access device fraud and unlawful use of a computer, Palmer Township Police said. Born in Morristown, Crowell was a lifelong resident of the Sussex-Wantage area, his obituary says. Police: Mercedes Benz Stolen From Morris County Driveway Recovered In Newark Police continue to investigate after a Mercedes Benz that had been stolen from a Morris County driveway was later recovered in Newark. The vehicle was stolen from a home on Flanders Netcong Road in Mount Olive sometime between 11:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. on June 29-30, township police said. Morris County Woman, 62, Accused Of Selling Narcotics, Police Say A 62-year-old woman is facing drug possession and distribution charges for allegedly selling narcotics out of her Morris County home, authorities said. Shelley R. Briggs, of Budd Lake, was arrested June 29 after an investigation by Mount Olive Police determined that she had allegedly been distributing a controlled dangerous substance out of her home on 4th Street in Budd Lake. Briggs was charged with distribution of a Schedule IV narcotic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. She was released and is scheduled to appear in court.

Feds: Hunterdon County Man, 48, Pleads Guilty To Receiving, Possessing Child Porn A 48-year-old Hunterdon County man admitted in court Wednesday to receiving and possessing child pornography, authorities said. Daniel Murphy, of Lebanon, pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography in Trenton federal court, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said in a release. Murphy received and possessed images depicting the sexual abuse of minors, Honig said.
