Alleged Ossining Check Forger Charged With 27 Felonies OSSINING, N.Y. -- A 24-year-old Ossining resident has been charged with being a prolific check forger by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. Devante Rainey, who lives on Snowden Avenue, was arraigned Monday on a 27-count complaint.  The District Attorney's Office said it had been investigating Rainey for two years. They said Rainey purchases photographs of co-defendants payroll checks and then uses routing numbers and checking account numbers on those checks to create forged checks using small business software. Looking Back At Purchase Street In The 1900s RYE, N.Y. -- Walking along Purchase Street, one would pass many of the buildings still here today dating back a century ago, according to a placard outside of Chase Bank at 73 Purchase Street.  Composed by the Rye Historical Society, it describes the town in the early 1900's. Man Pleads Guilty To Westchester Roadside Murder OSSINING, N.Y. -- A 27-year-old Yonkers resident pleaded guilty Monday to murdering a 62-year-old Yonkers man and dumping his body in Ossining. Joaquin Garcia pleaded guilty to murder in the first degree and faces 25 years to life for the murder of Luis Blanco, which occurred in Yonkers in August 2015.
