Equal parts Lois Lane, J. Jonah Jameson and Vicki Vale, Zak! has traveled from coast-to-coast covering small and big town community news in both in print and online for nearly a decade since his graduation from the award-winning Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College in 2010.

Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Bullet Found Inside Gym At School In Hudson Valley Students and staff at an area school got an unwelcome surprise when a bullet was found in the bleachers at the end of their game. In Orange County, Minisink Valley Schools Superintendent Brian Monaghan issued an alert to the community advising that following a boys modified basketball game, a bullet was found in the stands. Shoplifter Bites, Punches Nordstrom Employees At Long Island Mall, Police Say A shoplifter at Nordstroms inside the Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island did all she could to avoid being apprehended, punching and biting an employee who attempted to stop her, police said. Unlocked Land Rover Stolen In Fairfield County Recovered In New Haven A Land Rover was recovered in Connecticut after thieves allegedly stole the unlocked vehicle out of a Fairfield County driveway and took it on a joy ride before it was recovered in New Haven, police said. US Reveals New Software Vulnerability, Warns Hundreds Of Millions Of Devices At Risk A top cybersecurity agency in the US is cautioning that a new software vulnerability has been uncovered that could lead to hundreds of millions of device hacks. CT Man Busted By State Police With Pound Of Pot On I-95 A Connecticut man who was stopped by New York State Police on I-95 in Westchester for a traffic violation was busted with more than a pound of marijuana in his car, authorities announced. Troopers on patrol on I-95 in Mamaroneck stopped Hartford County resident Angel Rodriguez, Jr., age 29, of Rocky Hill, when he committed a vehicle and traffic violation in the area.
