Equal parts Lois Lane, J. Jonah Jameson and Vicki Vale, Zak! has traveled from coast-to-coast covering small and big town community news in both in print and online for nearly a decade since his graduation from the award-winning Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College in 2010.

Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Bomb Threats Called In To Charles County HS For Second Time In Days Police believe that the same person who called in a bomb threat to a Charles County school late last week made a similar call this week targeting another building. White House Gate Crasher Faces DUI, Other Charges In DC: Secret Service One person was taken into custody by Secret Service agents after striking a security gate near the White House, a spokesperson for the agency said. The morning commute was slightly impacted in DC on Tuesday, May 16, when an allegedly drunk driver struck a gate at approximately 4:30 a.m. near 15th Street and E Street. Sonar, Underwater Drone Help Locate MD Teen Drowning Victim In Upstate NY Lake The body of a 19-year-old Maryland teen has been identified as the person found in an upstate New York lake following an extensive search, authorities announced. Catonsville resident Ahmed Ayaz died after going swimming in Keuka Lake when he jumped into the water from a pontoon boat in the Town of Urbana to go for a swim, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
