Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

New Anti-Semitic Graffiti Found Spray-Painted Along Maryland Trail Elected officials in Maryland are condemning the latest instance of anti-Semitic behavior in Montgomery County. For the second time in nearly as many months, anti-Semitic graffiti was found spray-painted along the Bethesda Trolley Trail in the Wildwood neighborhood. Second Incident Involving Barricaded Suspect In Maryland Resolved Safely, Police Say Police in Maryland gave the “all-clear” after a brief standoff with a barricaded suspect who refused to leave a Montgomery County building on Monday afternoon. Police ID Victim Killed In Landover Shooting The Prince George's County Police Department has identified the 30-year-old father gunned down in Maryland. Laurel resident Walter Billy Manning III was shot and killed on Thursday, Nov. 10 at approximately 12:40 a.m. in the 7200 block of East Ridge Drive, officials say.
