Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Murder Suspect Released From Virginia Prison Back In Custody, Sheriff Says A murder suspect who was accidentally released from a Virginia prison is back in police custody, authorities announced. Stone Colburn, 25, was apprehended in Georgia by the Pooler Police Department in Chatham County following his release from prison for allegedly stabbing his brother’s girlfriend to death and wounding her 9-month-old in 2021, officials said. Anne Arundel County State's Attorney On Leave For Child Abuse Charge: Report Anne Arundel County Assistant State’s Attorney Rashad White is on leave after being charged with felony child abuse, according to a report from FOX5. White was reportedly charged earlier this week and later released, according to the outlet. The nature of the claims of abuse was not disclosed, and a spokesperson for the state’s attorney’s office declined to comment on personal matters.
