Rearview Camera Glitch Sparks Massive Recall Of 844K+ Cars, SUVs, Trucks
More than 844,000 vehicles are being recalled because a camera problem can block a driver's view while reversing.
Stellantis issued the recall for 844,027 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a report filed on Thursday, Aug. 13. The recall affects certain 2026 and 2027 models.
The issue involves radio software that can prevent the rearview camera image from displaying when a vehicle is placed in reverse. The failure can reduce rear visibility and increase the risk of a crash, according to the NHTSA.

Two Massachusetts residents found themselves in handcuffs in Virginia over the weekend after a Stafford County deputy allegedly caught them inside a stolen car with drugs, paraphernalia, and a large amount of cash.
Omar Maradiage Mejia, 30, and Nicole Johnson, 45, both of Lynn, were inside the vehicle when Deputy Holetzky tracked it to Garrisonville Road shortly after 5 p.m., according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
Mejia was behind the wheel, and investigators say he wasn't exactly helping his cause.

Maryland roads turned deadly again and again over the weekend.
Seven people were killed in four separate crashes between early Saturday, Aug. 29, and Sunday afternoon, including a mother and daughter from Virginia and three people who died in the weekend's final wreck, according to Maryland State Police.

Britax Child Safety issued the recall for 114,660 B-Safe infant car seats, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report submitted on Thursday, Aug. 20.
