Lotto Player In Emerson Wins Big Bucks Three lotto players in North Jersey won some massive moolah in the Mega Millions drawing held on Tuesday, August 22. Two tickets sold in Passaic County and a ticket sold in Bergen County matched four of the white balls and the Golden Mega Ball, winning $10,000. Two of the tickets were purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying the prize to $20,000. The tickets were sold at Jackpocket in Hewitt and at Shop Rite in Emerson The winning numbers were: 01, 12, 26, 36, and 50. The Gold Mega Ball was 07, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 02.

Bayonne Man Hid Firearm In Baby's Diaper Bag: Police A 35-year-old Bayonne man was arrested and charged after assaulting another man and having a handgun in his baby's diaper bag, police said. On the afternoon of Monday, August 21, police were called to West 25th Street on a report of an assault, Captain Eric Amato said. Upon arrival, police found Robert Correa on top of a man who was lying on the ground and bleeding from the head, Amato said. Teen Charged In Fatal Jersey City Shooting Of 25-Year-Old Man Sylis Lopez, an 18-year-old Union City teenager was arrested and charged on Tuesday, August 22 as an accomplice in the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old Jersey City man back in January, authorities said. At 9:35 p.m. on Jan. 29, Jersey City police responded to a report of shots fired at Summit Avenue and Polar Street, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Poll Findings Reveal How NJ Parents Feel About Gender Identity Classes In Schools A new Monmouth University poll shows that a majority of parents are okay with their kids being taught gender identity, but only in high school. The poll, released Tuesday, Aug. 22, show that 64 percent of New Jersey parents approve of teaching students in grades 9 through 12 about the "range of ways people express their gender." Bischoff's, the Teaneck ice cream institution, had reopened this summer as a pop-up after closing in 2022. A traffic stop on Westfield is under investigation after a man said he was pulled over after flipping off a police officer.
