Chico Is SPCA Pet Of The Week Chico is looking for his forever home.Chico is a five-year-old American bulldog/basset hound mix. The SPCA said Chico is a friendly, boisterous guy who will need to stay on the calm side for the next few months -- he's heartworm positive and has to stick to leash walks, nosework, food puzzles while he gets his treatments.  Chico is eligible for foster-to-adopt, which means he can receive the care he needs in a home instead of at the shelter, his heartworm treatment will be covered by the SPCA at its clinic. Gouldman, a Putnam Valley resident and Republican, is seeking a second term representing District Two. Williams, a Democrat, is hoping to breakthrough on all the Republican legislature. In his first term, Gouldman has touted his record of launching the Animal Abuse Registry and keeping taxes at bay, according to The Putnam Examiner. Yorktown Man Kicks, Slaps Woman, Police Say YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 40-year-old Yorktown man was arrested Wednesday morning after police say he attempted to cause physical injury by kicking and slapping a woman during a domestic dispute. Joseph Franco was charged with attempted assault in the third degree for the incident that occurred at a home on Mohansic Avenue. He was arrested at the scene and transported to headquarters for processing. He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on July 20. A temporary order of protection also issued.
