Tarrytown School District Budget Passes TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Voters in Tarrytown approved the 2016-2017 budget Tuesday. The $73.2 million budget was approved 483 to 163. The budget increases spending .8 percent and increases the tax levy .82 percent.

After the bear was spotted near the Charles Point Marina at about 8 p.m., police cleared the scene about an hour later when the bear swam back across the river toward, appropriately enough, Bear Mountain State Park, according to multiple reports. Dutchess County Voters Head To Polls For School Elections DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- School budgets and board of education seats are on the ballot Tuesday in Dutchess. Residents will be voting on public school budgets for the 2016-2017 school year, along with open seats on school boards. School districts must keep their budgets within a tax cap on the tax levy, around two percent. Districts wishing to override the cap must have their budgets approved by more than 60 percent.
