The storm closed all the schools in the region.  A fire was reported at the Cook Memorial Pool in Cortlandt with Montrose firefighters on the scene, according to LoHud,com. Reginald Johnson Appointed Peekskill City Judge, But Legal Battle Continues PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Reginald Johnson was appointed Wednesday as Peekskill City Judge, but the legal battle over his appointment is far from over. Johnson was voted in by the Democratic majority of the Peekskill Common Council at the city's annual reorganization meeting. The three Republicans on the council abstained since they didn't have enough time to consider any candidates for the position, which carries a 10-year term. Yorktown Fire Department Extinguishes Gomer Street Blaze YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- The Yorktown Heights Fire Department extinguished a basement fire at 3350 Gomer Street this morning. Second Assistant Chief Paul Dillon said firefighters responded to the home at 7:15 a.m. when it heard a report of smoke coming the wall. Firefighters found the fire, kept it contained and extinguished it, Dillon said. There were no injuries to the firefighters or homeowners, while the home sustained moderate damage, Dillon said. Second Dog Remains Missing After Banksville Fire BANKSVILLE, N.Y. -- A dog is still missing after a fire destroyed a million dollar home in Banksville. The fire occurred on early Friday morning, Dec. 27 at 8 Hobby Farm Drive in Banksville, a hamlet in the Town of North Castle.
