Yorktown Police Respond To Burglary Report YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Yorktown Police are responding to a report of a burglary on Darby Street off French Hill Road. Police responded to a burglar alarm and found the window broken, according to Lt. Kevin Soravlla. They have cordoned off the house and are planning to search the house, Soravilla said. Soravilla said they are not sure if someone is currently in the house and have requested assistance from Westchester County Police with the search.

Daniel Turner, 10, is battling leukemia and several Somers mothers are hoping this blood drive will help get the word out about Daniel's need for blood transfusions. The blood drive will be held at Somers Intermediate School on Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Daniel was on summer vacation in the United Kingdom when he was getting wheezy and out of breath and was taken to the doctor. North Castle Adds Recycling Bins To Parks ARMONK, N.Y. -- The parks in the Town of North Castle are getting more environmentally friendly. The town has added recycling bins in town parks thanks to donations from residents who want to have a cleaner North Castle. According to Councilwoman Diane Didonato-Roth, 22 recycle bins will be put in place after the winter. Eleven of the bins were bought thanks to private donations while the other half is coming out of the recreation department's budget. New York State Supreme Court, on Nov. 20, overruled a decision by the Yorktown Zoning Board of Appeals that allowed Witkowich's neighbor, Andrew Sabo to build a large car garage on Maple Court. Con Edison: Sing Sing Gas Leak Under Control OSSINING, N.Y. -- A  gas leak at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining Thursday was caused by loose fitting equipment, Con Edison officials said. Con Edison and the Ossining Fire Department responded to Sing Sing at 354 Hunter St. Thursday afternoon after a report of a gas odor. The gas was detected outside of the prison, Sidney Alvarez, a spokesperson for Con Edison said. Con Edison was able to tighten the equipment and secure the leak.
