An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Entergy, the electric power company that runs Buchanan-based Indian Point, hosted several security training drills on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The drills used simulated weaponry as participants attempted to attack the plant in an exercise. Wheelbrator Westchester Raises Money For Adirondacks PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- David Wright and colleagues at Peekskill-based Wheelabrator Westchester, a waste-to-energy company, spent a recent weekend taking part in a race in the Adirondacks, all in the name of charity. Wright and nine other employees joined more than 200 other teams for a two-day, 200 mile trek from Saratoga Springs to Lake Placid in September. The race, organized by the Ragnar Relay Series, engaged the Wheelabrator Power Runners in a race through the Adirondack Mountains with each runner completing three legs of the race. Ossining Gas Main Break Causes Evacuations OSSINING, N.Y. -- Village employees accidentally caused a gas main break while digging up a hole this morning. The gas main break, at 7 Madison Avenue in the village, led to the evacuation of 16 families. Ossining firefighters and officials from Con Edison were on the scene at 9:15 a.m., according to Assistant Chief Matt Scarduzio, Con Edison shut off the gas which is expected to be restored at the end of the day, Scarduzio said.
