An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Former Yonkers Priest Beatified By Vatican A priest who served in the Hudson Valley is on the track to sainthood. Rev. Solanus Casey was beatified by Pope Francis on Thursday, with the church attributing a miracle to him. Beatification is the next step on the road to becoming a saint. Casey, who died in 1957 at age 86, would be the first American-born male Catholic saint. Casey's first assignment was at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers. He served as sacristan, director of altar servers and then a porter, answering the bell at the monastery door, according to his website. Dogs, Humans Excited For Annual SPCA Dog Walk In Yorktown YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Thousands are expected to come out to FDR Park in Yorktown Heights Saturday for the SPCA's 12th Annual Dog Walk and Pet Fair. The annual event sees dogs and their owners walking through the park with the goal of raising $120,000 for the organization, which is based in Briarcliff. There will also be almost 80 vendors on hand. Sen. Bronxville's Mika Brzezinski Gets Engaged To Co-Host Joe Scarborough It's a match made in morning TV heaven. "Morning Joe" co-hosts Joe Scarborough, a New Canaan resident, and Mika Brzezinski, a Bronxville resident, announced Thursday they are engaged. Scarborough proposed to her while they were in Paris to celebrate Brezinski's 50th birthday. In February, Brzezinski put her Bronxville home on the market. The mother of two announced she was separating from her husband in December 2015. Scarborough, a former Congressman, split from his second wife in 2013. Ossining Police Carrying Torch For Special Olympics OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining Police will be running on the side of the road Thursday- all for a good cause. The police are participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics at about 2:30 p.m. Each year, law enforcement professionals, including police and correction officers from around the country, escort the Special Olympics Torch as Guardians of the Flame. Rep. Faso Announces Support For American Health Care Act You can move Rep. John Faso's (R-Kinderhook) name to the yes column when it comes to the American Health Care Act. Fox Lane Students Hope To Have A Voice On The School Board MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Four students from Fox Lane High School have put together a plan to ensure students will have more of a say in what goes on in their school district. Assisted Living Facility At Church Site Proposed For Pleasantville PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- The United Methodist Church could soon be transformed into a new assisted living facility in Pleasantville. Sunrise Development presented their plans for 70 Bedford Road in the Old Village at the April 24 Village Board meeting. The development would be a three-story building with 79 units and 90 residents. First Chipotle In Dutchess On Track For Summer Opening In Fishkill FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Burrito lovers can soon rejoice. Dutchess County's first Chipotle is set to open this summer in Fishkill at the Hudson Valley Town Center at 18 Westage Drive. A Five Guys Burgers and Fries is also being built on the site.
