County Board Calls For Strict Review Of Proposed Pipeline Through Cortlandt WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Westchester County legislators want to ensure a proposed pipeline that would run into Peekskill, Cortlandt and Yorktown is totally safe. Legislators voted 15-1 to call for a full risk assessment of the proposed Spectra pipeline.  The 42-inch Spectra Algonquin gas pipeline would replace a previous 26-inch pipeline that has existed for 60 years. The police are asking for the public's assistance in finding Brayan Roberto Mendez. Buchanan Man Struck And Killed By Train In Cortlandt CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Brian McCallum, a 27-year-old Buchanan resident, was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Wednesday night at the Cortlandt train station. According to Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) spokeswoman Marjorie Anders, an engineer reported that McCallum ran off the north end of the platform at the Cortlandt station onto the track area as the train was passing through the station at approximately 60 miles per hour.
