An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Putnam Valley Residents Enjoying Quiet Summer PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- It's been a quiet summer for some in Putnam Valley and that's just the way they like it. Woman Explores The Life and Death Of Two Hamilton Fishes PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- On Jan. 16, 1936, The Peekskill Evening Star ran two stories on its front page about the death of two people, both named Hamilton Fish. Artist Rachel Mason has been fascinated by the coincidence and has created a feature film and opera about the two men linked by a date. One Fish was from a prominent family in Garrison and served in Congress and was speaker of the New York State Assembly. Peekskill Man Publishes Book Of Poetry PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- A Peekskill resident is now a published poet. Colin David, who serves on the Peekskill Board of Education, recently self-published A Blossoming of Soul: Poetry by Colin David, his collection of poems. David had worked on his writing for several years and had always wanted his writing published. "It's a niche market," David said. Peekskill Residents Rally Against Proposed Pipeline PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Peekskill residents are coming together to express their opposition to a gas pipeline that would run through part of the city. The Stop Algonquin Pipeline Expansion group is holding a meeting in Peekskill on Tuesday, July 15, to work on how it can stop the project. The 42-inch Spectra Algonquin gas pipeline would replace a previous 26-inch pipeline that has existed for 60 years.
