Zhang recently received the Acorda Scientific Excellence Award for her research paper and scientific work on alternative treatments for antibiotic-resistant MRSA. MRSA, a bacterium, is resistant to almost all antibiotics. Zhang chose to study whether endolysins, specific proteins that break bonds in bacterial cell walls, would be an effective alternative treatment for MRSA. The Croton Falls Fire Department was dispatched to the restaurant, located at 100 Titicus Road, at 9:32 p.m. because of the chimney fire, Fire Chief Jason Blauvelt said. Keenan House Reopens In Ossining OSSINING, N.Y. -- A popular Ossining pub that unexpectedly closed in January has reopened. Keenan House Kitchen and Tap Bar reopened on Tuesday under new ownership.
