An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Horace Greeley Soccer Coach Looks for Quality Play CHAPPAQUA, N.Y.-- Horace Greeley High School soccer coach Bobby Herodes is not going to measure his team's success by just wins and losses. Herodes is looking for a quality effort from his team in each game. "This team is very raw," Herodes said. "We have a number of seniors on the team but their level of play is not indicative of senior players." Mount Kisco Medical Group Proposes Facility in Bedford BEDFORD, N.Y.-- Mount Kisco Medical Group, which has locations throughout Westchester, is proposing an urgent care facility in Bedford. The group met with the Bedford Planning Board on Tuesday, proposing a 20,000 square foot location at 800 Bedford Road in Bedford Hills. The medical group would be renovating the interior of the building, which . is owned by North Bedford Road Associations Inc. Greeley Football Ready for 2013 Campaign CHAPPAQUA, N.Y.-- After a tumultuous 2012 season, Horace Greeley High School Football is looking for a bounce-back 2013 season. Last year, Greeley went 1-7 after longtime coach Bill Tribou left the team under controversial circumstances and was replaced by assistant coach Tim Sullivan. Artistry Dance Jazzes Up Valhalla VALHALLA, N.Y. -- A new dance company has generated a lot of buzz in Valhalla. Artistry Dance Project recently opened at 1 Commerce St. in Valhalla before moving to a permanent Pleasantville location in a few months. The school is run by White Plains resident Kristina Wozniak, who grew up in Briarcliff Manor, and Lori Spada, both accomplished dancers. Fox Lane Cheerleaders Ready to Go BEDFORD, N.Y. -- There's one Fox Lane team that regularly spends its practices throwing each other around. The Fox Lane varsity cheerleading team is gearing up for the 2013 fall season. The cheerleading team performs at all Fox Lane football games, home and away, and also competes in sectionals, where it finished first last year. Roth Reflects on Primary Loss In North Castle ARMONK, N.Y. -- Tuesday was a difficult night for soon to be former Councilwoman Diane Didonato Roth. Roth finished third in Tuesday's North Castle Republican primary, finishing behind incumbent and fellow running mate John Cronin and Barbara DiGiacinto. With all precincts reporting, DiGiacinto had 453 votes, 38 percent, Cronin had 411 votes, 35 percent and Roth had 324 votes, 27 percent. Voters voted for two candidates. New Castle Ethics Board Clears Town Supervisor Carpenter CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The New Castle Ethics Board has cleared Town Supervisor Susan Carpenter of any ethics violations over her votes on the Conifer affordable housing project. Carpenter had asked the board to look into the matter, because Conifer's lawyer, Alfred DelBello was a supporter and member of the board of Westchester Land Trust, a Bedford Hills-based conservation organization where Carpenter has worked part-time for 17 years. Fox Lane Dance Team Excited For Fall BEDFORD, N.Y.-- There is one team at Fox Lane High School that is all about having fun. The Fox Lane dance team begins the fall season with 20 dancers. Bedford Town Board Approves Water Hike BEDFORD, N.Y.-- Bedford residents will have to pay a little more for their water in order to pay for a new water filtration plant in Katonah. The Bedford Town Board unanimously approved water rate increases last week. Average water rates will increase by 20 percent, abut $97 a year. "The water filtration plant is in operation and is producing great quality water," Department of Public Works Commissioner Kevin Winn said. Fox Lane Soccer and Cross Country Set For '13 Season BEDFORD, N.Y.-- The beginning of school means a new fall season of sports is set to begin at Fox Lane High School.
